No guaranteed hours or benefits. Job Summary Under supervision and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, assist in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients. Qualifications At least one of the following: Missouri CNA license; Prior experience as a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Surgical Technician, Patient Care Technician, Behavioral Health Technician; Enrolled in a nursing program and completed the Fundamentals of Nursing program. Completion of a state‑approved unlicensed assist personnel program (UAP) or meets exempted UAP guidelines (documented proof required) or enrollment in UAP through SSM Health upon hire. State of work location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin. BLS HCP – American Heart Association. Responsibilities Receive patient care assignments from the RN in charge. Initiate delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in nursing activities for specific patient age groups. Collect and document data for admission assessment, reassessment, and scheduling of appointments or surgeries. Document and provide appropriate data to RN/LPN for analysis and validation of patient response to care or treatment and when significant change occurs. Inform licensed nurse of any changes in patient condition, complaints, or educational needs. Stock and maintain supplies and equipment; utilize time and supplies economically. Assist with delegated clerical duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages, transcription of physician orders, and preparing and organizing patients’ medical records. Inpatient duties: answer patient calls, take vital signs, monitor behavior and physical condition; assist with baths, ambulating, feeding, skin care, personal and oral hygiene; prepare beds; perform dressing changes, enemas, ostomy care, toileting, turning, cough and deep breathing, catheter care, specimen collection, intake/output recording; assist with discharge and orientation. Outpatient duties: manage referrals for medical and surgical specialist appointments; provide assistance in patient care to patients three years or older. Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Perform point‑of‑care testing according to policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking; frequent use of hearing and speech for communication. Lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects 0-25 lbs; occasional lifting 25-50 lbs and moving patients. Frequent reaching, gripping, keyboard use/data entry; occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, repetitive movements. Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 in or less) and far (20 ft or more); occasional use for distance and spatial judgment. Occasional use of smell to detect odors; occasional driving.
