Automation Engineer

Assists with the efficient operation of each manufacturing facility by procuring new automation and ensuring that all automation is operational. This includes assisting with the design, overseeing the installation, and completing the qualification of all new automation.

- 1–3 years of work experience
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for purchasing and design of automation.
- Responsible for generating cost-saving opportunities related to automation and presenting these opportunities to management on a regular basis.
- Maintains and improves all existing automation machines in the division.
- Coordinates automation activities with outside suppliers.
- Generates specifications for new automation machines.
- Approves designs of new automation machines.
- Manages construction timelines to meet production schedule needs for new automation machines.
- Responsible for procurement of purchase orders for automation projects at suppliers.
- Assists in production start-ups related to automation machines.
- Assists with troubleshooting new and existing automation machines.
- Oversees each division’s continual improvement of automation machines.
- Assists other divisions with various automation projects as needed.
- Required to use a handheld propane torch on the production floor.
