MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR - GASTRO CLINIC

Qualifications Minimum of one‑year experience in customer service; preferably six months reception experience in a health‑care setting and experience with office equipment. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment. Physical and Health Requirements Normal office environment; close‑eye work; vision must be corrected to 20/20; hearing of normal & soft tones. Sitting for 7‑8 hours/day; required to stand, walk, use fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, controls; requires hand‑eye coordination and finger dexterity; reach with hands and arms; lifting up to 50 pounds; may be exposed to airborne particles; must be able to view computer screens for long periods; occasional stress related to workload and customers with problems. Job Summary Greet patients and arrange for the efficient and orderly registration of patients. Ensure accurate patient and insurance information is collected and that patients are made aware of clinic policies and procedures. Answer telephone, answer billing questions from patients. Process medical record requests, information requests and general patient account functions. Work with and have access to confidential patient information. Position requires making frequent decisions or actions following general procedures often without clearly defined precedents. Requires a high degree of mental alertness and close visual attention to details. Requires diplomacy and a professional image and manner in dealing with patients, families, visitors, and clinic personnel. Patient Service Representative is responsible for a positive first impression of clinic personnel as the initial point of service contact for clinic customers.
