Scope Of Position The Camp Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for campers, guests, and staff. Education And Work Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Commercial housekeeping experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required Knowledge of Salvation Army practices and organization Ability to pass a criminal background check Must possess and demonstrate an ability to work with people from all populations, including community groups, participants, campers, and staff in an affable, concerned and caring manner Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity Strong communication skills, including written and verbal Attention to Detail: the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness is essential Time Management: efficiently managing tasks and meeting deadlines is important Dependability: being reliable and responsible is key to the role Physical Stamina: being able to handle the physical demands of the job is necessary Essential Duties Clean and prepare cabins, sleeping areas, bathrooms, dining halls and other buildings as needed for retreat groups and the smooth operation of the summer camp program Emptying trash, cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal Perform laundry as necessary for counselors; maintain order and cleanliness in the laundry room Using cleaning supplies to disinfect surface areas and equipment Using and maintaining cleaning tools and equipment Keeping track of cleaning supplies and equipment; proactive communication to supervisor regarding low inventory and needs Manage turnover of VRBO in preparation for new guests Replenish consumable items such as toiletries and kitchen supplies, as needed Laundering of bedding, towels, etc. Notify supervisor of necessary repairs Performs other duties as assigned Physical Requirements Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
