We utilize advanced technology, including electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, to streamline client management and ensure efficient communication among team members. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to gather detailed history and context about clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health. Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans for clients, adapting strategies to meet their unique needs, based on ongoing evaluations. Facilitate engaging and supportive therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based approaches for both individual therapy and group workshops. Regularly assess client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly, documenting changes and milestones effectively. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and social workers, to develop comprehensive intervention strategies and ensure holistic client care. Provide guidance and support to family members and caregivers, offering strategies to manage mental and behavioral challenges effectively. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, complying with HIPAA regulations and agency policies at all times. Patient Population / Client Focus In this role, you will work primarily with a diverse client population that may include individuals, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, from anxiety and depression to trauma and substance use disorders. Our clients often come from various backgrounds, requiring sensitivity to their unique cultural, social, and economic contexts. Your empathetic approach will be critical in cultivating trust and rapport with clients, enabling them to explore and address their challenges effectively. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, LCSW-C in the state of Maryland. Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with outstanding interpersonal abilities. A deep commitment to ethical practice and maintaining client confidentiality. Preferred Experience Prior experience as a mental health counselor within a community health setting, with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Experience in managing electronic health record systems, particularly the AVATAR system, for seamless documentation and client tracking. Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association best practices and current developments in psychotherapy. Knowledge of the effects of prescribed medications on mental health and the ability to collaborate effectively with medical professionals regarding client care. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
