General Manager – Restaurant & Café

Location: Cambridge, MA

Schedule: Onsite | Full-Time

Compensation: Approximately $100,000 Base Salary

We are partnering with a well-established, high-volume restaurant group in Cambridge to hire an experienced General Manager to lead a unique all-day concept combining a bustling café with a full-service lunch and dinner restaurant. And unlike many GM opportunities in hospitality, this role offers a schedule designed to provide some consistency:

• Sundays & Mondays off
• Primarily 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM shifts
• Only one closing shift per week, approximately 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Major holidays are protected
• Flexible PTO

This is an opportunity for a proven restaurant leader who enjoys being on the floor, building strong teams, creating a great guest experience, and managing the details behind a successful operation.

Previous General Manager experience is required. We are looking for someone who has already successfully led a full-service restaurant and wants to find a long-term home where they can make an impact.

What You'll Do

As General Manager, you will have ownership of the day-to-day operation while leading and developing the restaurant's management and front-of-house teams.

• Lead daily operations across café, lunch, and dinner service
• Manage, coach, and develop a large front-of-house team and supporting management staff
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development
• Maintain high standards for hospitality, service, cleanliness, and overall guest experience
• Manage high-volume shifts while remaining calm, organized, and visible on the floor
• Oversee ordering and support inventory and operational controls
• Manage reservations, private events, and third-party takeout/delivery operations
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust operations based on daily and seasonal volume
• Partner with ownership and operations leadership on sales goals and business performance
• Create accountability while maintaining a positive, welcoming, team-oriented culture
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, service, and restaurant operations
• Develop future leaders within the organization

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 2+ years of General Manager experience within a full-service restaurant
• Experience managing a high-volume restaurant operation
• Strong people leadership and team-development skills
• A hospitality-first mentality
• Experience managing multiple service periods and operating styles
• Strong attention to detail

• Approximately $100,000 base salary
• Health insurance, with the company covering approximately 50% of the premium
• Health benefits eligibility after 90 days
