Spanish Teacher

Teachers at Brown School support a diverse educational program designed to address the needs of the “whole child”. Our teachers are expected to contribute to the school community beyond their own classroom and to exemplify the virtues Brown School hopes to instill in its students, as outlined in the school’s published mission statement.Position duties consist of teaching Spanish education classes Preschool – 8th grades. The instructor will oversee the progress of all students, provide for their individual needs, and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment. The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly skilled and experienced in a broad range of Spanish instruction.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:§ Teaching Spanish to Preschool – 5th grades once a week and 6th – 8th grades four times a week. The position is part-time, Monday through Thursday.§ Oversee the progress of all students in your groups, provide for their individual needs, and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment.§ Planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.§ Instruct, monitor, and evaluate students in the use of learning materials and equipment.§ Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.§ Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.§ Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, following the school student handbook.§ Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary protocols of the school.§ Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.§ Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.§ Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.§ Effectively prepare and adapt the classroom for varied classroom activities.§ Assign and evaluate classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.§ Maintain rapport and communication with parents, administration, and staff members.§ BA or BS in Spanish, Education, or related field§ Minimum of 1-year teaching experience preferred.Job Type: Part-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr Priority Dispatch Corp.
