JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Summary of role of team :

• It is the mission of our Military Services Program to provide a broad range of outpatient treatment and assessment services for those who are experiencing mental health, addiction, or co-occurring disorders.
• Military Services initially screens individuals from the community for the presence of a mental health/addiction issue and possible need for treatment at HRMC.
• Through an initial evaluation with a Master's Level Clinician, the individual's unique strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences are assessed, and a treatment plan is developed.
• In addition to the initial evaluation, Military Services includes crisis counseling and psychotherapy (individual or family).

Summary of position :

• Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of persons seeking professional help for mental health and co-occurring issues.
• This includes initial assessments, diagnosing, triage/crisis counseling, and individual therapy.
• Master's Level Clinicians may make referrals to services that each consumer is eligible for as clinically appropriate, triage consumers who may present in crisis, and work within a team approach to ensure access to services is efficient and appropriate at each level of care.
• Masters Level Clinicians maintain a therapy caseload of adults and children.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT

• This position is an office-based position.
• Staff members are provided with all equipment necessary to perform their job responsibilities in their assigned office or in and assigned treatment room within the office setting.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Works in a multi-disciplinary team approach to meet clinical needs of SPMI consumers.

• Attends tx team 2 x monthly without tardiness & participates through clinical
  recommendations/interventions.
• Attends scheduled administrative team meetings without tardiness &participates.
• Responds to all flags, emails, and voicemails within 1-2 business days.
• Attends a variety of ongoing training related to evidence-based treatment modalities that are shown to be effective when working with the veteran population.
• Effectively implements evidence-based treatment modalities throughout the episode of care.

2. Completes all documentation in compliance with CARF and MCO standards.

• Individual clinical documentation is completed within 2 business days.
• Intake documentation is completed within 4 business days.
• 15% chart sample evidences that documented presenting problem and symptoms support
  DSM-5 diagnosis given.
• 15% chart sample evidences that therapy treatment plans are completed by 3rd session and updated every 6 months.
• 15% chart sample evidences that notes are detailed in nature, contain client quotes, and contain action oriented statements.
• 15% chart sample evidences that clients were screened for substance abuse issues at intake and,
  if present, were offered AoD services.
• 15% chart sample evidences the use of the approved scales and DLA-20 to measure outcomes.
• 15% chart sample evidences the use of C-SSRS for all face-to-face visits.

3. Completes essential tasks to aid in reaching team and therapist productivity.

• Completes intake assessments during assigned timeframes each week.
• Completes intake session within required timeframe of 45-90 minutes.
• Fills 100% of assigned therapy slots on a weekly basis.
• Maintains a 70% show rate for all individual therapy clients.
• Meets with all walk-in clients as needed.

4. Demonstrates and maintains a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.

• Demonstrates a consideration and concern for fellow workers and their jobs and promotes
  harmonious relationships and attitudes.
• Accepts additional assignments and/or changes in assignments and/or work with flexibility.

5. Develops and maintains a strong positive presence in the community.

• Conducts outreach visits and community education to a variety of community partners each month.
• Identifies new referral sources on an ongoing basis to ensure that caseloads are filled to capacity.
• Maintains positive interactions with all external providers and community partners.

COMPENSATION:

• Starting salary for this position is approximately $55,685 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Schedule:

• This position has a regular schedule of Monday - Friday 8a.m. until 5p.m.
• There is no on-call for this position and employee is off work on Center designated holidays.
• In person, daily attendance is essential for this position except in instances of approved time off.

Travel :

• Position does not require transportation of clients.
• This position is primarily housed in Hamilton County, however, does require travel 1-2 days per week to Veterans Court Hamilton County.
• Some minimal travel may occur for off-site training opportunities or outreach efforts.

Equipment/Technical Competency :

• This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
• Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.
• This position requires use of a computer, electronic medical software, and Microsoft Office products such as Word/Excel/Outlook.

Equipment/Technology:

• Position is required to enter clinical information into electronic medical records software.
• Position requires frequent use of telephone and intermittent use of telehealth software platform (camera/speakers).

QUALIFICATIONS - Hamilton Military Services Master's Clinician

Experience / Knowledge:

• Veterans and those with military experience preferred.
• Must have course work and or experience in the areas of psychopathology, counseling, theory, cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse and mental illness.
• One year + clinical experience preferred.

Education / License :

• Graduation from an accredited college of university with a Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or other related field of study.
• Eligible for certification and licensure by the State of Tennessee if such exists or his/her degree/profession.
• Licensed preferred.

Physical/Emotional/Social -Skills/Abilities:

• Exposure to biological hazards.
• Hearing of normal and soft tones.
• Close eye work.
• Valid driver's license- F endorsement.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Pushing/pulling up to 250 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Must have mental ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
• The necessary skills for this position include the ability to demonstrate appropriate boundaries, ability to be an empathic listener, and flexibility, willingness and adaptability to work with diverse populations.
• Must also have the ability to communicate effectively and possess good time management and organizational skills.
• Required to be certified in, and effectively implement, verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements; including but not limited to, grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking.
