Utility Engineer

Utility Engineer (Bilingual Korean required)\n\nTimpl has partnered with a global EV battery manufacturing company and they're\nlooking for a Utility Engineer.\n\n \n\nSummary\n\nThe Utility (Mechanical) Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and\nmanagement of all mechanical facilities related to utility equipment, including\ntemperature, pressure, power, and clean room/dry room systems necessary for\nprocessing or manufacturing raw materials. This role involves overseeing the\ninstallation, operation, maintenance, repair, removal, and disposal of\nmechanical systems such as HVAC equipment, Clean Room / Dry Room system, Steam\nSystem, Chilled Water and Cooling Water System, NMP Recovery, Hot Oil Boiler,\nA/C tower, Scrubber, Pipeline System, N2 gas, waste water, valve, any other\nutility related systems. The engineer will need to interact with SHE engineer,\nequipment engineer, control engineer, production engineer, production planner\nand manager, customer, vendors and local community to solve urgent complex\nproblems by identifying and evaluating alternatives or reporting utility related\nissues. He or she will drive energy-saving initiatives and efficiency\nimprovements, interact with various teams and stakeholders, and lead site\nactivities. The position requires occasional on-call support outside regular\nhours.\n\n \n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nEducation:\n\n * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial\n Engineering, or equivalent\n\nExperience:\n\n * 3-5 years of relevant experience in industries such as EV battery, auto\n parts, automobile manufacturing, or similar environments\n\nSkills:\n\n * Communication skills\n * Working level of English\n * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)\n\n \n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Steam boiler, PE-related certification\n * Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar programs (reading and drawing)\n\n \n\nJob Duties and Responsibilities\n\nMaintenance Planning/Management:\n\n * Develop and manage annual maintenance and repair plans and budgets\n * Request renovations and issue purchase orders (P/O)\n * Oversee and evaluate maintenance and repair performance.\n\nInvestment Planning/Management:\n\n * Create and manage annual investment plans and budgets\n * Review facility investment techniques and construction drawings, making\n necessary modifications.\n * Draft specifications for repairs and new construction, including public use\n documents.\n * Solicit quotations for new facilities and issue construction purchase orders.\n * Monitor and manage facility investment performance.\n\nFacility Inspection and Technical Support:\n\n * Conduct facility reviews and repairs based on system requests.\n * Develop, manage, and update facility operation manuals.\n * Perform regular facility inspections (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly).\n * Identify and analyze the causes of facility abnormalities and prepare\n reports.\n * Plan and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency.\n * Manage and oversee piping systems (air, water supply, etc.).\n\nEnergy Saving Planning and Performance Management:\n\n * Analyze energy usage trends for each piece of equipment.\n * Identify and implement energy-saving opportunities.\n * Monitor and report on monthly energy-saving performance.\n\nGovernment Relations:\n\n * Address regular court inspections of mechanical facilities.\n * Ensure facilities comply with local laws and regulations.\n * Conduct operational safety inspections (safety valves, pressure vessels, and\n static pressure).\n\nAudit Preparation & Response:\n\n * Prepare and manage documentation required by PSM/ISO.\n * Implement improvements and correct non-conformities as specified by PSM/ISO.\n\nConstruction Management/Supervising:\n\n * Supervise mechanical facility construction related to repairs, extensions, or\n production line changes.\n * Request and inspect facility parts and materials.\n * Issue purchase orders for construction materials.\n\nEmergency Planning & Response:\n\n * Plan and conduct emergency training for scenarios such as natural disasters,\n power outages, and hazardous material releases.\n\n \n\nDemands and Environment\n\nPhysical & Mental Demands:\n\n * Office Environment: Must wear company-provided uniforms.\n * Production Site: Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety\n shoes, helmet, safety glasses, and portable gas measuring device.\n * Clean Room/Dry Room: Must wear a dust-proof suit, shoes, gloves, and hat.\n * A/C Tower: Must wear a dust-proof mask.\n * Exposure to NMP, Hot Oil: Requires additional protective gear including gas\n mask, dust-proof mask, and chemical-resistant clothing.\n\nWork Environment:\n\n * Usual office environment, production, and construction sites\n * Risks include noise (above 90 dB in compressor room), high temperatures\n (104-122°F in various rooms), and potential exposure to hazardous materials\n (e.g.,
