Electrical Engineer – Power System Studies
\nPower Systems | Data Centres | Energy Infrastructure
\nUSA / Canada – Fully Remote
\nUp to $220K + Bonus & Benefits
\nFull-time
\n \nI’m currently supporting a specialist power engineering consultancy that is growing its team and looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong Power Systems and PSCAD/EMT experience .
\n \nYou’ll work directly with senior engineers on technically challenging projects across hyperscale data centres, behind-the-meter generation, BESS, microgrids and next-generation energy infrastructure .
\n \nWhat you’ll work on:
\n- \n
- PSCAD / EMT modelling – building, validating and running electromagnetic transient models \n
- Power system studies – load flow, short circuit, dynamic stability, protection coordination and RAM \n
- BESS & inverter-based resources – including grid-forming and grid-following controls \n
- Data centre & microgrid projects – large-load dynamics, islanded systems and behind-the-meter generation \n
- Synchronous machines & controls – AVR, governors and PSS \n
- Technical reports and client-facing engineering deliverables \n
- Emerging technologies including HVDC, SMRs and advanced power system controls \n
Ideal background:
\n- \n
- 5–8 years’ power systems experience \n
- Strong hands-on PSCAD / EMT modelling experience \n
- Experience with PSS/E, ETAP or DIgSILENT \n
- Solid understanding of power systems, symmetrical components and machine dynamics \n
- Experience with IBRs, BESS, HVDC or power electronics \n
- Python/MATLAB and RTDS/HIL experience would be highly desirable \n
