Robert Half Finance & Accounting and Kevin Sweet have partnering with a highly respected investment organization to identify a Fund Accountant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to gain exposure to private equity, hedge funds, investment management, partnership accounting, and complex investment structures.

The Fund Accountant will work closely with the Fund Accounting Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of private equity or hedge funds, as well as several investment management entities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys complex accounting, problem-solving, financial analysis, and working in a fast-paced environment where initiative and attention to detail are highly valued.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting activities and maintain the general ledger for multiple investment entities and funds
• Post cash and non-cash transactions and record investment-related activity
• Record investment valuations, acquisitions, and dispositions
• Perform bank, brokerage, and general ledger account reconciliations
• Monitor daily cash balances and assist with cash management activities
• Prepare monthly close deliverables in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Prepare debt compliance reporting and other requirements for credit facilities and regulatory agencies
• Perform taxable income reconciliations and assist with tax estimates and tax return preparation
• Develop financial reports, analyses, and presentations to support management, the family, and investment teams
• Work directly with auditors, tax advisors, compliance professionals, and external fund administrators
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, process improvements, and special projects

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience in public accounting, a family office, private equity, hedge funds, financial services, or a similar environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience with partnership accounting, multi-tiered entity structures, or intercompany accounting
• Strong general ledger experience with demonstrated journal entry expertise
• Experience preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
• Strong understanding of account reconciliations, including bank and brokerage accounts
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, PivotTables, and similar functions
• Ability to quickly learn new accounting systems and technology
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take ownership beyond the traditional scope of the position
• Ability to successfully work both independently and collaboratively
• Exposure to AI, business intelligence, automation, dashboarding, and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Copilot and Power BI
