Electronic Health Records Analyst

Position Summary An Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) Analyst is responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining electronic health record systems within healthcare organizations. This role ensures that EHR systems are properly configured, functioning, and compliant with regulations while improving the quality of care and operational efficiency. The EHR Analyst works closely with healthcare providers, IT teams, and vendors to enhance the usability and performance of the EHR system. Responsibilities: EHR System Implementation & Optimization Support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of EHR systems to meet organizational needs. Ensure systems are properly aligned with clinical workflows and industry standards. User Support & Training Provide training to healthcare staff on EHR system usage, ensuring they are proficient in its features. Offer ongoing user support and troubleshoot any issues or challenges. System Maintenance & Updates Regularly monitor the performance of EHR systems, perform routine maintenance, and manage system updates or upgrades. Ensure minimal disruption to healthcare operations during updates. Data Integrity & Quality Ensure that patient data entered into the EHR system is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements. Work to improve data accuracy and reduce errors in patient records. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence Ensure the EHR system complies with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), ensuring patient data privacy and security. Reporting & Analytics Generate reports and analyze data from the EHR system to provide actionable insights to clinical and administrative teams. Support healthcare providers in data-driven decision-making. Workflow Analysis & Improvement Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to understand workflow requirements and improve EHR usability and efficiency. Recommend and implement system improvements based on feedback. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and healthcare providers to resolve system issues, enhance user experience, and implement new features or processes. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution Act as a liaison between end-users and technical support teams, identifying system issues, prioritizing them, and ensuring timely resolution to avoid disruptions in healthcare delivery. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Proven experience working with EHR systems in a healthcare environment. A degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field is often preferred. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy/security standards. Analytical skills to generate reports and interpret data from EHR systems. Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, IT staff, and vendors, to improve system functionality. Proficiency with healthcare technologies, IT systems, and workflows in clinical environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training staff and resolving issues. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on the computer. Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling up to 15 lbs.
