HELPER COOK (FULL TIME)

Job Summary We are hiring immediately for full‑time Helper Cook positions at Arlington Catholic High School (16 Medford Street, Arlington, MA 02474). Online applications only. Schedule: Full time Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 1:45 PM. More details will be provided upon interview. Requirement: Previous food service experience and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment are required. Pay Range: $19.00 per hour to $20.00 per hour. Internal employee referral bonus available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read menus to estimate food requirements and order food or procure it from storage. Prepare and cook food according to company production records and standardized recipes. Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles. Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment. Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods under guidance. Add seasoning to food during mixing or cooking under instruction of others. Test food by tasting, smelling, and piercing to determine that it is cooked. Carve meat, portion food on serving plates, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes to fill orders as directed. Wash, peel, cut, and shred fruits and vegetables. Butcher chicken, fish, and shellfish as directed. Bake bread, rolls, cakes, and pastry as course of instruction permits. Maintain work area and equipment, following principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment. Interact with customers and coworkers in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner. Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
