Dispatcher

At First Student, Dispatchers embody the company’s commitment to safety and customer service. The dispatcher is responsible for dispatching all buses, ensuring on‑time performance of routes, and counseling drivers and monitors on the front line. Schedule & Compensation • Monday through Friday, 6:00am–3:00pm • Up to $26hr, depending upon experience • Opportunities for career advancement across North America Dispatcher Responsibilities Oversee all routes and scheduling of buses Provide counseling and coaching to drivers and monitors Handle heavy phone and radio traffic Accept and report driver complaints to Operations Supervisor/Contract Manager Act as the primary communication liaison with major contracted customers Manage charter reservations, billing, and driver payroll as needed Develop solutions to drop‑off and pick‑up problems Perform backup driver duties or miscellaneous clerical work as required Complete special project assignments Assist with supervision of day‑to‑day operations Experience & Skills Required 3–5 years of related experience High school diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines Previous terminal operations, dispatch, or driver experience preferable Computer literate Subject to DOT drug testing and physical exam. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part40 does not authorize use of ScheduleI drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
