Commissary Prep Cook

As a Commissary Prep Cook you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen within the commissary. This role is responsible for high volume food preparation, labeling and packaging orders for shipment.

Responsibilities:

• Washing, peeling, chopping and slicing of vegetables, fruits and other ingredients
• Measuring and portioning ingredients according to store recipes
• Preparing basic sauces, dressing and seasonings
• Assisting in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation
• Monitoring and reporting food stock levels to prevent shortages
• Ensure and adhere to health and safety regulations, including but not limited to proper handling of food, sanitation and safe use of equipment
• Properly using kitchen equipment such as but not limited to grills, fryers, slicers, knives etc
• Implement and enforce cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations
• Adhere to all company safety standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Environment:

• Servesafe standard refrigeration temperature.

Schedule:

• Weekday and Weekend hours as needed.
• Up to 20 hours a week

Compensation:

• $16.00 per hour.

Experience:

• Preferred: One (1) year culinary experience or relevant experience
• Preferred: ServeSafe certification or comparable
• Required: Valid and unexpired driver's license.

Skills:

• Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc.

• Organizational skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
