Lead from the line, not the office

At FlexScreen/RiteScreen in Fargo, ND, you’ll own a full value stream and spend most of your time where it matters—on the floor. You’ll guide people and processes to hit ambitious targets for safety, quality, delivery, and cost in a fast-moving, build-to-order operation.

You start with a safety touchpoint and a walk through your area, checking flow, constraints, and standard work. You adjust the day’s staffing plan and production schedule, then huddle the team around updated visual boards to align on KPIs. Throughout the shift, you coach problem-solving at the machine, facilitate quick root-cause actions, and partner with HR on staffing and development. You close the day by packaging performance insights into concise reports for stakeholders using Excel and PowerPoint and, when needed, hosting a plant tour or greeting a customer or supplier on-site.

• Build and sustain a culture of continuous improvement within your value stream.
• Plan and run kaizen events; teach Lean tools, standard work, and structured problem-solving.
• Spot and remove waste to boost efficiency and profitability.
• Use root-cause methods to keep production plans on track.

• Set and adjust daily production and labor plans to meet customer demand.
• Track and act on KPIs for productivity, quality, safety, and delivery—closing gaps with corrective actions.
• Conduct regular Gemba walks and keep visual metrics boards accurate and actionable.
• Ensure every team member is trained on standard work, quality checks, and safety procedures.

• Coach, set clear expectations, give timely feedback, and hold the team accountable.
• Delegate work effectively, rotate tasks, and build a flexible, cross-trained workforce.
• Partner with HR and site leaders to address underperformance and celebrate high performers.

• Review, code, and approve timecards in ADP to meet weekly payroll deadlines; resolve discrepancies before submission.
• Maintain timekeeping compliance in ADP; approve PTO while safeguarding coverage.
• Communicate hourly staffing needs to HR and recruiting; monitor attendance and headcount to keep shifts productive.

• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices at all times.
• Lead/oversee safety training and audits; enforce robust safety standards across your area.

• Present performance updates to internal and external stakeholders using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Lead plant tours and participate in customer and supplier visits as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or 3–5 years of proven manufacturing leadership.
• Hands-on Lean manufacturing expertise with a track record in problem-solving and quality improvement.
• Data-driven, analytical approach with strong project management capability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding time management and organization in a fast-paced setting.
• Meticulous attention to detail and discretion with sensitive information.
