Position Overview

This position requires a Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift, working three consecutive 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00, including every other weekend. The RN will participate in a holiday rotation and may be required to work holidays as part of the schedule. Effective self-scheduling is facilitated through assigned groups, which are rotated weekly. Additionally, there may be a need to float between units to meet staffing requirements.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Holidays: Must work one summer and one winter holiday
• Patient Ratios: 1:6

Job Responsibilities

The RN will take part in patient care and management, which may include, but is not limited to, the following:

• Managing patient care in the medical/surgical unit
• Self-scheduling with rotation of groups weekly
• Participating in holiday rotation responsibilities
• Floating to other units as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Certification in BLS required
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate competency in skills such as blood product administration, IV maintenance, and wound care

Patient Care Details

The role involves providing care to adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses, including:

• Cellulitis
• Pneumonia
• Dementia
• Renal Failure (acute and chronic)
• Malignancy
• Gastrointestinal Bleed
• Urinary Tract Infection
• Sepsis
• Diabetes management
• COPD and Wound care management

Additional Unit Information

• Daily Census: Approximately 30 patients
• Number of Beds: 32
• Interdisciplinary support available from various healthcare services

Compliance Requirements

As part of compliance, the following are mandatory:

• Completion of Drug Screening during the compliance process
• Fit Testing - travelers must shave for a fit test; exemptions may require a medical letter
• COVID-19 vaccine is not required; Flu vaccine is mandatory with medical/religious exemptions accepted
