Job Summary
Th e Technology Quality Technician is responsible for performing quality control activities, including mechanical inspections, dimensional measurements, testing, documentation, and reporting of results. This role combines hands-on inspection skills with an understanding of quality management systems and the impact of nonconformances on the performance, reliability, and quality of equipment and components.
Job Description
- Perform dimensional inspections on machined metal components, primarily tubular parts under approximately 8 inches in diameter and up to approximately 5 feet in length.
- Conduct manual inspections using calibrated measurement equipment and inspection tools.
- Use inspection equipment such as: Calipers, Micrometers, Thread gauges, Plug gauges, Other precision dimensional measurement tools
- Inspect documentation, parts, components, materials, subassemblies, and equipment against established specifications and requirements.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
- Follow applicable inspection procedures, standard work instructions, test plans, and quality requirements.
- Document inspection and test results accurately and completely.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances and deviations from specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technical personnel regarding inspection results, quality issues, and recommended corrective actions.
- Assist with the design, preparation, and setup of tests, inspection fixtures, and related equipment.
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities are performed safely and in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Participate in the creation and review of Hazard Analysis and Risk Control documentation for inspection and testing activities.
- When authorized, perform calibration activities for applicable measurement systems.
- Verify the accuracy, stability, and repeatability of inspection results where feasible.
- Maintain awareness of measurement system calibration status and ensure appropriate equipment is used for inspection activities.
- Provide feedback to improve inspection procedures, standard work, test plans, and quality processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using applicable manufacturing and quality improvement principles and tools.
- Maintain accurate quality records and communicate inspection findings to appropriate personnel.
- Support investigations and resolution of quality issues as required.
Skills Required
- 2–3 years of hands-on mechanical dimensional inspection experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing dimensional inspections on machined or manufactured components.
- Hands-on experience using manual inspection equipment, including: Calipers, Micrometers, Thread gauges, Plug gauges
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
- Experience identifying and documenting dimensional nonconformances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, manufacturing personnel, and other cross-functional teams.
- Important: Direct mechanical dimensional inspection experience is the primary qualification for this position. General QA/QC experience without hands-on mechanical inspection experience is less applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using SAP or other manufacturing/quality management systems.
- Experience in oil & gas, energy, industrial equipment, machining, or similar manufacturing environments.
- Technical school, trade school, or vocational training in manufacturing, machining, quality, metrology, or inspection.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and nonconformance processes.
- Experience working with calibrated measurement systems and inspection procedures.
- Experience with continuous improvement or manufacturing quality programs.
Education
- High Schoo l Diploma or GED
- Technical school, trade school, or vocational training related to manufacturing, machining, quality, metrology, or inspection is preferred.
Pay Rate
- $25 - $28 per hour ( Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)

- Sche dule: 1st shift 6 AM - 2:30 PM
