Shift: Tuesday - Friday 5am - Complete (shifts could start as early as 4:30am)
Pay: $24/hour
Job Description
The Delivery Driver safely operates a box truck to complete scheduled delivery routes, traveling up to 50-85 miles from the base location. In this role, you drive pre-planned routes, unload products at customer sites using a hand cart, and ensure accurate delivery confirmation using a hand scanner and digital signatures. You provide courteous, professional service to each customer while following all safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) procedures.
Responsibilities

• Drive an 18-24 foot box truck on assigned routes to deliver products within a radius of approximately 50-85 miles from the base location.
• Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety procedures while operating the vehicle.
• Arrive at customer locations on time and communicate professionally with customers or receiving clerks.
• Use a hand cart to unload containers and move products safely from the truck to the designated drop-off area.
• Ask customers where they would like products placed and ensure deliveries are left in the correct and safe location.
• Use a hand scanner to scan all cases accurately and maintain precise delivery records.
• Collect digital signatures from customers to confirm receipt of products.
• Inspect the truck before and after routes, reporting any issues or concerns promptly.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage during unloading and delivery.
• Adapt to different delivery environments, such as grocery stores, bars, and other customer locations, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area within the truck and follow all materials handling guidelines.
• Communicate any delivery issues, delays, or customer concerns to the appropriate internal contacts.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of box truck driving or delivery driving experience.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL B).
• Proven experience driving an 18-24 foot box truck.
• Strong truck driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance.
• Ability to operate a hand cart and safely unload containers and products.
• Capability to perform physical tasks, including loading and unloading products as needed.
• Customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of customers and receiving clerks.
• Ability to use a hand scanner to scan cases and capture digital signatures accurately.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and basic safety procedures related to commercial driving.
• Reliable time management and route-following skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in route sales or route-based delivery work.
• Familiarity with materials handling practices and warehouse operations.
• Class A CDL is a plus but not required.
• Comfort working in varied customer environments, such as retail grocery locations and hospitality venues.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Attention to detail when verifying deliveries and completing documentation.

Work Environment
This role combines time in an open warehouse, on the road, and at diverse customer locations. You begin and end your day at a warehouse facility where trucks are loaded for you, reducing time spent on pre-loading. Most of your shift is spent driving an 18-24 foot box truck and making deliveries across a 50-85 mile radius. You regularly work both indoors and outdoors, depending on the customer site, and use a hand cart and hand scanner as part of daily tasks. The environment requires adherence to safety procedures, DOT regulations, and proper materials handling practices, with a focus on safe, efficient movement of products in a variety of delivery settings.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
