Physician Assistant (PA)Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our interdisciplinary behavioral health team.In this role, you'll provide advanced clinical care to individuals receiving mental health and substance use disorder services while working alongside physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. If you're passionate about integrated behavioral healthcare and making a meaningful impact in your community, we'd love to hear from you!What You'll DoAs a Physician Assistant, you will:Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health assessmentsDiagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders within your scope of practice and supervisory agreementPrescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medicationsProvide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) when authorized and credentialedDevelop and monitor individualized treatment plansOrder, review, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studiesCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate high-quality patient careCoordinate care with primary care providers, hospitals, pharmacies, and community partnersMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activitiesEducate consumers and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment optionsSupport a person-centered, recovery-focused model of careQualificationsRequiredGraduate of an accredited Physician Assistant programCurrent, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the applicable stateCurrent NCCPA certificationExcellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to maintain professional boundaries and patient confidentialityPreferredExperience working in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, integrated care, or community mental healthExperience providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)Knowledge of CCBHC and CARF standards
