This role includes troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment; performing preventative maintenance; managing parts inventory; and identifying and correcting safety concerns involving both company- and customer-owned equipment. The technician will regularly interact directly with customers and may support multiple systems, locations, and customer sites.## ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:* Promote and maintain a safe work environment and safety-focused culture* Properly maintain and care for company property and equipment* Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and empowerment in daily work activities* Collaborate effectively within a team environment* Work independently with minimal supervision* Perform proactive troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities* Identify and resolve equipment and operational issues in a timely manner* Provide professional customer support and communication while onsite* Maintain accurate service documentation and reporting## Candidates must meet company driving requirements, including completion of the following:* Driver Application for Employment* Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) reviewRequired forms and documentation include:* Driver Disclosure and Release* Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement* FMCSA Certificate of Awareness* Driver Certificate of Violations* Driver Statement of On-Duty Hours* Road Test Documentation* Valid Driver’s License* Valid Medical Certificate## Education & Experience Requirements* High school diploma or equivalent required* Ability to obtain a CDL Class A or B with applicable endorsements### ## Experience Requirements* Ability to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)* Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card* Clean driving record required* Previous technical or field service experience preferred* 2–5 years of technical work experience, preferably in industrial or commercial process water systems## Skills & Qualifications* Experience with electrical, mechanical, diesel, or fusion systems depending on business unit requirements* Ability to work independently without direct supervision* Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices* Strong customer service and communication skills* Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities* Ability to interpret and communicate technical information clearly* Ability to leverage customer feedback and field experience to develop effective solutions, including in complex or unexpected situationsJoin the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
