Job Overview We are seeking an Admissions Counselor for the JD program office. The Admissions and Financial Aid Office handles over 7,000 applications each year and enrolls approximately 200 candidates each fall. The role requires a proactive and results‑driven individual who can meet or exceed objectives in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Serve as a contact for prospective and admitted students, providing information about the law school and JD program. Acquire general knowledge of the admissions process, clearly articulating academic program requirements and institutional policies and procedures. Manage basic office tasks, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and serving as primary contact when student workers are unavailable. Lead admissions recruitment activities, registering for events, creating and updating shipping spreadsheets, coordinating student worker shipments, and maintaining public admissions calendars with event information. Administer recruit event surveys and produce end‑of‑cycle reports to evaluate event effectiveness. Coordinate logistics for out‑of‑town admitted student/alumni receptions with designated points of contact at law firm partners. Maintain inventory of office supplies and order supplies in a timely manner. Assist with processing admission applications via the LSAC UNITE system and reviewing applications to make recommendations. Attend admitted student conversion events and participate in the conversion process. Attend fall recruitment events, requiring periodic local and out‑of‑town travel during the fall months. Stay updated on policies and procedures provided by the university. Maintain a relevant understanding of FERPA regulations regarding student information distribution. Assist with final exam administration and proctoring at the end of Fall and Spring semesters and at commencement each year. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Qualifications Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (combined experience/education may substitute for the minimum). Minimum experience: 0 – 6 months. Field of expertise: Counseling skills and/or academic advisement experience. Compensation Hourly rate range: $29.42 - $30.77.
