TRUCK DRIVER

SUMMARY : This position is for a Class A CDL Driver to run local loads - Eugene, Springfield, Junction City, Harrisburg. Work schedule is Monday- Friday. Work hours dayshift / early swing shift 5:30am-4pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must have a valid Class A CDL
• Safely operate a tractor trailer with Gross Vehicle Weight of 105,500# and comply with all FMCSA and HOS (Hours of Service) regulations
• Observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations
• Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, polices and site-specific safety plans
• Obey all traffic laws
• Maintain an accurate AOBRD (Automatic Onboard Recording Device)
• Maintain accurate load paperwork and driving records required for compliance with state and federal regulations
• Follow truck schedule and rest at appropriate times; begin and end workday to accommodate vendor load schedules and HOS regulations
• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption.
• Access weigh stations along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs
• Communicate & schedule equipment maintenance and repairs
• Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the tractor and/or trailer
• Responsible for efficiently and safely securing all loads
• Maintain professional representation of the Company in all interactions with customers and through responsible driving
• Be prompt and courteous to the customer, co-workers, and everyone you interact with
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Subject to random D.O.T. drug screens and regulations
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must be able to pass a DOT driver physical
• Must be physically able to enter and exit the tractor, throw and tighten straps and open and close the curtains multiple times per shift
• Able to work and drive safely in all weather conditions and during daylight and dark (early morning / early evening) hours

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a class A CDL
• Clean driving record.
• 2-5 years of heavy haul, local or long-haul driving experience desired

• This position will be outdoors and in high traffic areas
