We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to serve as an independent contractor conducting Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA)disability assessments . This role is ideal for professionals seeking flexibility, autonomy, and a meaningful way to support our nation's Veterans.

• Perform comprehensive eye examsand visual function evaluations in accordance with VBA protocols

• Assess service-connectedconditions such as ocular trauma, refractive errors, retinal disease, andother vision-related impairments

• Document findings usingstandardized reporting formats—no treatment or follow-up care required

• Maintain professionalism andconfidentiality while working with sensitive Veteran health information

?? Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degreefrom an accredited institution

• Active and unrestricted licenseto practice optometry in the state of service

• Prior experience with VA ordisability assessments preferred but not required

• Strong clinical documentation andinterpersonal skills
