Azure Data Engineer

(Client) is looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join their team. This is a full time, direct hire role. The Azure Data Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and support of the data platform (data lake) and associated tech stack. (Client) is advancing their data lake and analytics framework. (Client) has in place an Azure Data Lake and uses Power BI for their BI tool. They are looking for an experienced individual with strong Data Engineer who has worked in an Azure cloud environment. The extended skill set will include Fabric, ADF, Synapse, data pipeline builds, strong SQL and Power BI and reports development. (Client) really needs experience within data warehousing - data mart builds, data flows, ETL, datasets and data pipeline. This position will require interface with several business owners and end users gathering requirements as necessary.

The Azure Data Engineer will be supporting and have responsibility for the analysis, design, development of the data environment and support of business intelligence reports, platforms, and tools.

DUTIES & SCOPE:

• Design, build, and maintain data engineering solutions that support internal customers, leveraging existing data lake utilizing and business intelligence tools (Power BI).

• Lead development, design methodology, and standards for data pipelines and data lake build;

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven insights and opportunities for improvement;

• Collect and analyze data from multiple sources, translating business data into usable information for operational needs.

• Develop, maintain, and refine SQL views, tables, workbooks, and datasets necessary for reporting activities.

• Develop DAX queries and formulas in Power BI.

• Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of data pipeline/data lake;

• Assist in the development and implementation of data driven strategies.

• Continuously monitor data quality, ensure data accuracy and completeness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years of Data Engineering Experience

• Strong skills with data pipeline build and optimization.

• Advanced SQL knowledge.

• Azure Synapse

• Fabric (nice to have)

• ADF

• Experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting datasets, dataflows, and deployment pipelines.

• Experience managing data pipelines in cloud modern data warehousing environments (Azure data platform and Microsoft SQL Server).

• Experience in an internal customer-facing role, comprehending business needs and gathering requirements.

• Ability to work independently, set priorities, meet goals and deadlines.

• Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.

This is a Permanent position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
