Specialty Inpatient Registered Nurse Euola is seeking an Inpatient Registered Nurse to provide continuous onsite professional nursing care to veterans in inpatient specialty settings at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Assignments may include medical and telemetry, mental health, community living center, and critical care units. This role supports safe 24 hour operations through direct clinical care, timely documentation, emergency response, patient education, and reliable shift coverage.Key Responsibilities Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing plans of care. Administer medications and intravenous therapy within assigned scope and VA procedures. Monitor patient condition and cardiac rhythms, recognize deterioration, and respond to emergencies. Operate clinical equipment and perform unit appropriate nursing interventions within demonstrated competency. Document assessments, care, medications, patient response, and other required information accurately and promptly in the VA electronic health record. Coordinate discharge planning, patient and family education, and interdisciplinary communication. Protect patient privacy and VA records; participate in quality improvement, staff meetings, and incident or complaint reporting. Maintain accurate timekeeping and perform only authorized scheduled hours.Required Qualifications Graduate of a state approved professional nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE when completed. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in at least one U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. Current CPR certification from an American Heart Association vendor and current BLS certification. At least one year of direct patient care experience within the previous three years. Eligibility to complete and maintain VA credentialing and privileging, as applicable. Technical proficiency and the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently. Current continuing education and demonstrated competency appropriate to the assignment. Ability to satisfy all health, OIG, background, PIV, training, privacy, work authorization, and liability requirements. Availability for onsite variable tours across all days and shifts, primarily 12 hour shifts.EducationGraduation from a state approved professional nursing school that was ACEN or CCNE accredited when the program was completed.ExperienceAt least one year of direct patient care experience within the previous three years. The resume must show dates, unit or specialty, duties, and clinical scope.Technical Skills Inpatient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and IV therapy. Cardiac rhythm monitoring and emergency response appropriate to the assigned unit. Electronic health record documentation and interdisciplinary care coordination. Patient education, discharge planning, privacy, safety, and quality improvement.Certifications and LicensesRequired: Current unrestricted RN license; current CPR certification from an American Heart Association vendor; and current BLS certification. ACLS is required when applicable to the final specialty assignment.Preferred: Current ACLS when not already required for the assignment.Work ScheduleCoverage is provided 24 hours per day, seven days per week, including holidays. Staff must be available for variable day, evening, and night tours, primarily 12 hour shifts with some 8 hour shifts, and may receive schedule changes with 24 hours notice.
