Hours: 36 hours/week, Monday - Saturday. 6 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Sunday, 0 hours/day)

Seasonal Packaging Operators work closely with the Packaging Supervisor and Plant Operations Manager to ensure that corn seed packages meet customer requirements. Responsibilities include:

Performing work activities safely.

Lifting and stacking materials up to 68 lbs. for extended periods of time.

Standing to fill and close packaged product for extended periods of time.

Successfully pass the forklift training and receive an operator’s certificate.

Operating bagging equipment according to instructions.

Ensuring that bag labels are accurate, neat, legible and professional in appearance.

Application of appropriate tags and/or labels to seed packages.

Thorough cleaning of all equipment in order to maintain product integrity.

Ensuring that seed pallets are neatly stacked and securely wrapped from packaging line; deliver finished seed pallets or boxes to the warehouse.

Prepare and clean (if needed) packaging materials to be used according to customer specifications. This would include boxes and paper bags.

Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area.

Seasonal Rebag Operators work closely with the Rebag Supervisor to meet customer quality and packaging requirements during repackaging processes. Responsibilities include:

Performing work activities safely.

Lifting and stacking materials up to 68 lbs. for extended periods of time

Standing to fill and close packaged product for extended periods of time.

Successfully pass the forklift training and receive an operator’s certificate.

Operating bagging equipment according to instructions

Ensuring that bag labels are accurate, neat, legible and professional in appearance

Additional Compensation

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
