Respiratory Therapist, Registered RRT

Schedule PRN (As Needed) Overview Wilson Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is a 294‑bed facility serving Wilson County and surrounding communities. As a Respiratory Therapist, Registered, you will help patients recover and maintain respiratory health. Responsibilities Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assess patient condition and deliver appropriate treatment. Educate the patient and family about the illness and provide information about community support groups and resources. Monitor, receive, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. Maintain storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. Disassemble, clean, sterilize equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in Science required. Certifications: BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. License: Current Respiratory Therapist licensure in North Carolina; Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care. Experience: Three or more years of experience in cardiopulmonary services preferred. Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, effective communication in English (verbal and written), and ability to work in a stressful environment.
