Buyer Steel Purchasing Agent

A Minster steel fabrication company has an opening for an experienced Buyer Steel Purchasing Agent @ $28-$35 per hour, based on experience. The Buyer/SPA is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and procuring structural steel and related materials for large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Issuing purchase orders & monitoring order status
- Ensuring materials are available for project requirements, schedules, and budgets.
- Monthly and Year-End Inventory Control
- Supply Chain Management
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers of structural steel and welding materials.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to align material orders with project timelines.
- Work with Quality Control team to ensure quality standards of materials meet specifications.

Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Home Phone or Cell.
- Clean Background with No Felony Conviction.
- Your Own Transportation.
- Able to Pass an Employment Drug Screen.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ie. Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Fabtrol fabrication management software experience.
- Powerfab/Tekla (structural steel bidding, inventory, and shop floor) software experience.
- Working knowledge of structural steel fab drawings and processes.
- Working knowledge of steel detailing processes, ASTM Standards, and AISC Purchasing Standards.
- Working knowledge of steel sizes and cost processes.
