HR Policy Specialist

Our client, a leading organization in the energy and environmental sector, is seeking a HR Policy Specialist to join their team. As a HR Policy Specialist, you will be part of the People Governance and Leadership Development department supporting policy review, restructuring, and revision initiatives. Job Title: HR Policy Specialist Location: 100% Remote | should be based in NYS Pay Range: $45-$55/HR What's the Job? Execute comprehensive policy audits and gap analyses to ensure alignment with regulatory standards. Establish a policy inventory and design strategic prioritization matrix to streamline ongoing updates and revisions. Architect and deploy an electronic policy review process to modernize workflows and improve efficiency. Construct policy framework that is consistent, compliant, user-friendly, and fit-for-purpose. Design and embed long-term governance systems to ensure all policies, frameworks, and workflows remain sustainable, scalable, and manageable over time. What's Needed? At least 5 years of experience in regulatory knowledge, risk mitigation, policy creation, and governance. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO regulations) and compliance infrastructure. Proven ability to conduct gap analysis, risk auditing, and translate operational workflows into formalized procedures. Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to draft clear, accessible, and culturally aligned policy language. Experience in stakeholder engagement, change management, and training across organizational levels. What's in it for me?
