General Maintenance Technician (Overhead Door & Dock Specialist)


Location: Bristol, PA 19007 (Onsite)


Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (Temp-to-Perm)


Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00/hr on W2


Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday) | Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs


Position Overview


We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician specializing in overhead doors, docks, and general facility maintenance to join our operations team in Bristol, PA. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs in a large industrial setting (including clean rooms). The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-conscious, and possesses strong mechanical diagnostic skills.


Key Responsibilities

• Specialized Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain overhead/roll-up doors, gates, gate arms, loading dock levelers, dock plates, and dock restraints.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine PMs (lubrication, cleaning, filter changes) on mechanical systems and replace components like motors, bearings, sheaves, and shafts.
• General Facilities Repair: Execute basic plumbing repairs (sinks, toilets, urinals), carpentry, painting, and basic electrical troubleshooting (non-licensed).
• Inspections & Compliance: Conduct daily walkthroughs, log maintenance activities using CMMS, and ensure compliance with safety standards like Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 5+ years of maintenance experience in at least one of the following fields:
  
  
  • Industrial HVAC / Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair
  • Overhead Door/Dock Repair
  • Automotive Repair
• Heights & Equipment: Ability to work comfortably in aerial/scissor lifts at heights of 30 feet or more, and climb extension/roof ladders.
• Tech Literacy: Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite and experience navigating digital business platforms.
• Requirements: Ability to lift light-to-medium materials, bend/stoop, differentiate color-coded wiring, and pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. Must have or be able to obtain a site security access badge.

• Active welding certification.
• Experience working within a CMMS environment (Maximo is a major plus).
• Working knowledge of commercial hand/power tools, electrical meters, and refrigeration equipment.
