Staff Data Scientist, Ads Delivery

Salary: $164,695 - 339,078 per year Requirements:

• We want someone with 10+ years of hands-on experience in web-scale data environments, including a history of solving complex, ambiguous problems in product, engagement, or ecosystem analytics.
• We are looking for deep expertise in machine learning, including recommendation, ranking, prediction, and experimentation.
• We need strong knowledge of statistical modeling and causal inference across both observational and experimental data.
• We expect experience in product analytics and strategy beyond dashboards, including root-cause analysis, goal setting, and design collaboration.
• We require strong programming ability in Python or R, along with advanced SQL and Spark skills.

• We will have this person build a deep understanding of Pinterest ads delivery and quantify full-funnel opportunities and risks.
• We expect them to lead projects focused on ads delivery opportunities across different stages of the funnel.
• They will design and operationalize scalable ML and evaluation frameworks spanning forecasting, recommendation, and causal inference.
• They will champion best-in-class experimentation, instrumentation, and metric design, connecting short-term proxy measures to long-term business impact.
• They will partner across Product, Engineering, Research, Business, and Design to turn complex data questions into actionable insights.
• They will mentor both junior and senior scientists and help foster intellectual curiosity and technical excellence.
