CNC Machinist IIThe CNC Machinist II is a mid-level position responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC machine tools to manufacture precision parts. This role requires proficiency in reading technical drawings, performing inspections, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring quality standards are met in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Job Responsibilities:Set up and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes and milling machines, to produce parts according to specificationsRead and interpret blueprints, CAM files, engineering drawings, and work instructionsPerform dimensional and attribute inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and go/no-go gaugesConduct first article inspections and adjust machining processes to maintain required tolerancesTroubleshoot basic machine malfunctions and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipmentEnsure compliance with company quality standards and safety regulationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentCommunicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production and quality concernsParticipate in all required meetings, training, and development activitiesAbility to communicate, including the ability to read, write, and speak English and promptly follow verbal and written directions in EnglishPerform other related duties as assignedJob Requirements:Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsProficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented environmentAbility to safely work in a manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to moving machinery and metal materialsAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions as neededMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 2–4 years of CNC machining experience requiredExperience operating CNC lathes and milling machines preferredBasic knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and quality inspection methodsThis position operates in a manufacturing environment and may require extended periods of standing, lifting, bending, and working around moving equipment. The CNC Machinist II must maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and production efficiency while meeting operational deadlines.
