Outreach Volunteer
Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange
Do you enjoy cycling and want to make a tangible impact in your community? Do you enjoy meeting new people and sharing what you care about? You’d be a perfect Outreach Volunteer for the Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange!
We collect donated bikes, teach people how to repair them, and distribute them to local charity partners in need. To keep our wheels turning, we need friendly ambassadors to represent us at local community gatherings—from Earth Day festivals and school events to city volunteer fairs and off-site repair workshops.
What You’ll Do:
- Be the Face of SVBE: Staff our info table, greet visitors, and share our mission with the public.
- Recruit Volunteers: Help us find new volunteers (both skilled and novice mechanics, plus behind-the-scenes supporters!).
- Event Support: Transport a small kit of supplies (flyers, banner, and maybe a display bike/tools) to and from the event, set up, and wrap up.
What We’re Looking For:
- Reliable individuals with their own transportation who can commit to scheduled event times.
- Enthusiastic communicators, people who value community, and meeting new people.
Your enthusiasm will inspire others to join our merry band of volunteers and help get more bikes to neighbors who need them!
