Control Engineer

Akkodis is seeking We are seeking a Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands‑on support for automation, controls systems, and digital manufacturing at a manufacturing operation in Corinth, Mississippi. This role will focus on PLC programming, troubleshooting, system integration, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement to enhance safety, uptime, quality, and scalability. The Controls Engineer will also support the transition toward a smart factory environment through automation, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), connected equipment, and reduced reliance on external controls vendors. Pay Rate: 38.00/hour to $45.00/hour. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Controls & Automation Engineering job responsibilities include: Design, develop, enhance, and maintain electrical control and electro‑mechanical systems for manufacturing equipment. Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial automation systems across production lines. Support the integration of robots, machine vision systems, automated stations, and networked equipment. Diagnose and resolve control system failures to minimize equipment downtime and production interruptions. Support equipment upgrades, retrofit projects, commissioning, validation, and startup activities. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience programming and troubleshooting industrial PLC systems, including Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or comparable platforms. Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial automation equipment. Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of manufacturing systems, industrial equipment, and electrical controls. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams. Ability to provide onsite support in a manufacturing environment.
