Position Overview

One and Done Handyman is seeking a highly skilled Lead Technician to manage and perform residential handyman and remodeling projects. This is a leadership role for a tradesman who can work independently, solve problems professionally, and deliver high-quality, code-compliant workmanship.

This position requires strong technical ability across multiple trades, excellent communication skills, and the discipline to represent the company with professionalism at all times.

Absolute Requirements (Deal Breakers)

Applicants must meet ALL of the following:

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no DWI, major violations, or suspensions within the last 4 years)

• Drug-free (subject to screening)

• Proven experience in residential trades

• Proficient knowledge of:

  • Basic electrical

  • Plumbing

  • Framing

  • Finish carpentry

  • Drywall repair & texture

  • Trim & door installation

• Ability to pass background check

• Reliable transportation

Core Responsibilities

• Complete handyman and light remodeling projects independently

• Execute work within:

  • Scope of Work (SOW)

  • Industry best practices

  • IRC / IBC / local code requirements

  • Company workmanship standards

• Diagnose customer problems and present practical, code-compliant solutions

• Maintain a clean, organized jobsite

• Train and guide apprentices or helper technicians

• Document work accurately (time tracking, receipts, material usage, photos)

• Communicate schedule changes and project updates in real time

• Represent OAD with professionalism in customer homes

• Clean, presentable appearance at all times

• Professional communication with customers

• Ability to clearly explain options and solutions

• Comfortable using technology (apps, scheduling software, time clock systems)

• Detail-oriented and organized

• Takes ownership of quality and customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years residential trade experience

• Experience in remodeling projects

• Experience leading or training others

• Familiarity with Kansas City metro code requirements
