Instrument & Electrical TechnicianWe are currently seeking applications to fill the following job opening at Celgard where we develop and manufacture membrane battery separators that are critical components used in lithium-ion batteries for electric drive vehicles (EDVs) and energy storage systems (ESS).Company: Celgard, LLCJob Description:About the RoleWe are seeking an Instrument & Electrical Technician to be a part of the Maintenance team based in Charlotte, NC, working days for six months, then nights for six months, before rotating back to days. Flexibility to work both schedules is required. This position directly reports to the I&E Supervisor and does not supervise others.Key AccountabilitiesUnder minimal supervision, perform instrumentation and electrical maintenance functions which include but are not limited to the following:Perform electrical calibrations & preventative maintenanceTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical power systems, motor drives, control systems, as well as instruments used in the systemsUnderstand and safely use test equipment such as volt, Ohm, current meters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopesDisassemble, clean, reassemble production equipmentInstall and/or verify correct instrument installationSupport new equipment installations with point-to-point verification prior to start upUpdate electrical drawings & procedures, when neededWrite detailed written reportsOperate PIV equipment (forklifts, portable hoist, cherry picker, one-man lift, etc.)Repair and/or replace electrical componentsTrain other maintenance personnel on I&E systems and personal areas of expertiseWork collaboratively with all maintenance and manufacturing personnelParticipate in cross-functional teams to contribute to continuous improvementFollow all Celgard safety guidelines and procedures and demonstrate a strong ability to support a safe work cultureQualificationsEducation Background:High School diploma, GED, or equivalent requiredAssociate degree or certificate in Electrical Technology highly preferred.Knowledge & Experience:3+ years' experience in an industrial environment performing instrumentation & electrical work required, 5+ years preferred.Electrical experience related to any of the following will be advantageous:Experience supporting instrumentation and control loops for temperature, pressure, tension, and flowBlown or Cast Film ExtrusionLaminationProcess OvensWeb CoatingWeb Converting EquipmentAutomation and RoboticsMilitary technical experience in electrical, instrumentation, electronics, automation, or control systems is welcomed and will be considered equivalent to related civilian experience where applicable. Work will require standing and walking for up to 80% of the time. Must be able to work at heights up to 30 feet, lift and carry up to 30 lbs., climb ladders, bend and twist to reach remote equipment. You may be required to lift up to 50 pounds and/or force necessary to push, pull, or otherwise move objects, utilize company cell phone, carry out site wide communications and prioritize tasks.
