The adjunct faculty position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in online undergraduate courses that support the institution's mission and strategic goals. Teaching assignments are offered on an as-needed basis, depending on class size and semester availability. This role requires active engagement in the virtual classroom, timely communication, and completion of online teaching training modules. Hiring for the following areas: History, English & Literature, Physical Education & Health, Computer Science The University of Northwestern – St. Paul is authorized to hire in the following states: IA, IL, KS, MN, MO, ND, NE, SD, TX, WI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned online undergraduate courses aligned with the institution's mission and strategic goals.
• Maintain a consistent and active presence in the online classroom, including facilitating course content and engaging with students.
• Monitor and participate in online discussion forums to promote interaction and learning.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and concerns, fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Grade assignments and provide feedback in a timely manner; complete required online teaching training modules.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:• Master's degree required with at least 18 graduate-level credits in the discipline applied to teach• Bachelor's degree may meet minimum qualifications for teaching certain technology courses with Master's level equivalent experience• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian CommunityNice to have:• Previous teaching experience with online instruction

• Confidentiality: Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
• Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
• Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
