Completion of 60 college credit hours

Primary Responsibilities

Supervise students who have been referred to the Focus Room in order to provide support to the students while working through the students' behavioral issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, other staff members, and community agencies in the implementation of behavioral and instructional plans for students.
2. Work with individual students or small groups of students to encourage and reinforce appropriate problem solving skills.
3. Facilitate problem-solving model with individual teacher and team working with chronic offenders.
4. Document recovery activities.
5. Adapt materials, as suggested by teachers, in order to meet student needs.
6. Interact positively with students and model appropriate behavior.
7. Provide assistance to students as necessary.
8. Maintain confidentiality of student records and other information shared about students.
9. Participate in requested training responsibilities, including Behavior Intervention Support Team (B.I.S.T) training, as requested.
10. Complete other trainings, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT


A Focus Room Supervisor is employed for 8 hours a day. Compensation is according to the salary schedule set for non-certified employees as established annually by the Board of Education. All other employee benefits are according to the total FTE of employment for the individual.

EVALUATION


Performance of this position will be evaluated according to board policies by the Building Administrator.
