Digital Fundraising Associate

About the role Forward Blue is a grassroots-funded progressive PAC that raises money and builds power for bold Democrats across the country and turns out low-propensity young voters. We’re hiring a Digital Fundraising Associate to help run day-to-day production of our email and SMS fundraising program. You will build and QA sends, manage segments and tests, draft copy, and pull the numbers that show what worked. You’ll learn every stage of a small-dollar program from people who run it, with real responsibility from your first week. This is a cycle role with an opportunity to become permanent, with an estimated end date of November 30, 2028. What you’ll do Production (most of your week) Build sends end-to-end in our email and SMS platforms: content, links, fundraising forms and refcodes, sender details, and scheduling. Pull audience segments and apply suppressions and send rules from a production plan, and flag anything that looks off. Run a written QA checklist on every send: links, forms, refcodes, merge fields, targeting, typos. Draft and edit fundraising, petition, and survey emails and SMS in our house voice, with feedback from senior staff. Testing and optimization Set up A/B tests on subject lines, senders, asks, formats, and send times, then push the winning version to the full list. Keep the testing log current and share what you notice in results. List health and reporting Track deliverability and engagement metrics and help maintain onboarding, reactivation, and sunset streams. Pull weekly and campaign-level reports on revenue, list growth, and engagement. Help coordinate with consultants and vendors on paid list growth and outsourced fundraising. Be available for rapid response, including some nights and weekends when news breaks or deadlines hit. What you bring Required At least one cycle (or about a year) on a digital team at a campaign, PAC, advocacy group, or digital firm, or a substantial digital fundraising internship or fellowship. Hands-on experience building or QA’ing sends in at least one email platform or CRM (ActionKit, NGP/EveryAction, Action Network, Switchboard, or similar). Clean, careful writing and a habit of catching errors before they go out. Comfort with spreadsheets: sorting, filtering, basic formulas, and simple summaries. Willingness to take feedback fast and apply it to the next draft. Preferred Broadcast or peer-to-peer SMS experience. Exposure to A/B testing and reading results. Basic HTML for email templates. Some SQL, or interest in learning it. This role is probably not a fit if Your experience is mainly paid media, social, communications, or press. We value those skills, but this job is email and SMS production. You want to write copy only. Most of this job is building, checking, and sending. Detail work drains you. QA is a daily, central part of the role. You can’t be reachable some nights and weekends during peak moments.
