Senior Heavy Civil Cost Estimator -- Western U.S.

Heavy Civil Senior Cost Estimator We’re seeking a Heavy Civil Senior Cost Estimator with estimating experience ranging in size from $5M-$10B to support our projects and clients across the country. Projects include heavy civil, highway, bridge, transit, rail, airports, and urban development. This role will review design documents, proposals, specifications, drawings, attend design development meetings and assess the risk and cost impacts required to develop the estimates. You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive team as you prepare estimates by reviewing and comprehending scope documents, developing project work breakdown structures, calculating complete scope of work take-offs, assisting contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors, applying construction means and methods, calculating indirect field and owner’s costs, and meeting necessary deadlines. Location and Work Arrangement We’re considering candidates located in the Western region of the United States. You will be assigned to the nearest Jacobs office as a hybrid employee. Key Responsibilities Develop necessary quantity take-offs in an organized fashion and utilizing software in alignment with program requirements. Develop capital cost estimates for transportation/transit projects. Review and validate change orders. Interface with external clients in the presentation of capital costs. Maintain organized and detailed files, project records and logs. Attend project meetings as required. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Progressive and successful cost estimating experience in transportation projects. Proficient use of MS Office products, HCSS (HeavyBid) estimating software and BlueBeam. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field. At least 15-20 years of estimating and construction experience related to heavy civil construction. Alternative delivery procurement experience is a plus. Understanding of the relationship between cost, risk and schedule. Certifications such as a CEP, CCP, PMP, or CCM are a plus. Salary The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $180,000.00. Salary is determined by work location and additional factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
