Charter Senior Living of Northpark Place is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing / Health & Wellness Director to lead our clinical and resident-care team.

We're looking for more than a nurse who can manage the clinical side of the community.

We need a self-starting, hands-on leader who knows how to organize a department, develop employees, prioritize competing needs, perform strong resident assessments, and step in when the team needs support.

Northpark Place serves both Independent Living and Residential Care Facility (RCF) residents , and we're looking for an RN or LPN who understands senior care and believes great clinical leadership starts with teamwork, accountability, compassion, and being willing to dig in and get the job done.

Previous senior living experience is important for this position.

You understand the unique needs of older adults and know how to balance resident independence with safety, changing clinical needs, family expectations, regulatory requirements, and quality of life.

We're looking for someone who knows how to lead and develop people—not simply manage a schedule .

You’ll coach associates, establish expectations, hold the team accountable, recognize strengths, and help employees continue developing their skills.

We want a leader with a "teach them up" mentality who is willing to work alongside the team and help people become better at what they do.

The right leader can assess what’s happening, determine what needs immediate attention, delegate appropriately, and follow through without losing sight of the bigger picture.

What You’ll Own

As Director of Nursing / Health & Wellness Director, you’ll provide leadership and oversight for the community’s health and wellness services.

You’ll:

• Lead and oversee day-to-day clinical and resident-care operations

• Provide leadership, direction, and support to nursing and care associates

• Hire, train, coach, develop, and help retain a strong care team

• Establish clear expectations and promote accountability

• Complete and oversee resident assessments

• Develop, review, and maintain individualized resident service and care plans

• Monitor changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate follow-up

• Oversee medication management processes and clinical documentation

• Partner with physicians, pharmacies, families, and outside healthcare providers

• Communicate effectively and compassionately with residents and families

• Ensure compliance with applicable state regulations, company policies, and clinical standards

• Maintain strong documentation and survey readiness

• Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives

• Manage multiple clinical and operational priorities effectively

• Partner closely with the Executive Director and community leadership team

• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for associates

• Help create a culture where associates feel supported while maintaining high standards for resident care

• Participate in the shared on-call schedule and Manager-on-Duty rotation

What You Bring

Required

• Current Iowa RN or LPN license in good standing

• Previous senior living experience

• Experience caring for and supporting older adults

• Previous supervisory or staff-management experience

• Strong resident assessment skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop employees

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

• Knowledge of medication management and resident-care documentation

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, associates, providers, and leadership

• Willingness to participate in shared on-call responsibilities and the Manager-on-Duty rotation

Compensation & Schedule

Salary: $60,000–$70,000/year

Bonus: Eligible for the quarterly Health & Wellness Director bonus program

Schedule: Monday–Friday with a shared on-call schedule and Manager-on-Duty rotation .
