Protouch Staffing is hiring an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN OR) for a contract opportunity at a leading Level 1 Trauma Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Job Details

Position: RN - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Oak Lawn, IL
Duration: 13 weeks (Apr 6 - Jul 4, 2026)
Schedule: 40 hours/week (10-hour day shifts)

Requirements

2-3 years of acute care OR experience
Must be able to scrub and circulate
Trauma experience (Level 1 or 2 preferred)
BLS certification required
Experience with EPIC charting

Unit & Case Mix

28 OR beds (including hybrid rooms)
60-75 cases/day
Cases include:
- Trauma (GSW, stabbings)
- General, ortho, neuro, vascular
- Open heart (CABG), transplant (kidney/heart)
- Robotic, urology, gyn
~20% pediatric cases

Work Environment

1:1 patient ratio
Magnet-designated facility
Comprehensive Stroke Center
Strong support staff (charge nurse, educators, resource nurses)
Advanced equipment including EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis

Schedule & Call

Day shifts (10 hours)
Weekend rotation: Every 4th weekend
On-call: 3 shifts in 6 weeks
Holiday coverage required
No floating
