Core responsibilities include VMware ESXi and vCenter management, Windows Server administration, Group Policy creation and management, DHCP configuration, and implementing system hardening and patching in accordance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). The candidate must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.Essential Job Responsibilities• Ensures reliable operation and performance of multi-user Windows server and VMware systems, coordinating as needed with other network and systems administrators.• Manages VMware infrastructure including provisioning, monitoring, performance tuning, and lifecycle maintenance of virtual machines.• Performs Windows Server administration including account management, GPO development, patching, and system configuration.• Maintains system documentation and ensures compliance with DoD cybersecurity and configuration standards.• Evaluates hardware and software solutions, coordinates installations, and manages system backups and recovery processes.• Develops and enforces policies and standards related to system resources, capacity allocation, and configuration management.Minimum Qualifications• 10 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 8 years with a Master’s; or 14 years relevant experience with a High School diploma/equivalent.• Hands-on experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter).• Familiarity with VDI technologies and connection protocols.• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills.• Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation.• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.• Strong customer service and communication skills.• Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.• Must hold and maintain an active Secret security clearance.Preferred Requirements• Experience with Microsoft WSUS or SCCM for patch and configuration management.• Experience administering Windows Server 2019/2022 environments.• Experience with Windows desktop OS.• RedHat (RHEL 8/9) desktop administration experience highly desired.• Experience implementing DoD STIGs across Windows and virtualized systems.• Experience patching Windows servers and workstations in an enterprise environment.• Strong customer focus and ability to manage competing priorities.Physical RequirementsJob performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline.
