Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Neurology (Dr. Soto)

UTHealth Houston's Neurology Department is hiring for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join their team of professionals. Our research focuses on understanding the molecular basis of neurodegenerative diseases associated with misfolding and accumulation of proteins implicated in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. The candidate will work on the characterization of the αSyn interactome to identify factors implicated in αSyn seeding in PD brains through proteomic approaches. The study will also involve various cellular and animal models of Parkinson's disease. Major Duties Assists faculty researchers and other collaborators, or may act independently, in planning and designing research experiments. Operates specialized scientific equipment. Data collection, processing, and analysis. Engaged in fieldwork and writing of scientific publications and reports. Presentation of project results to internal and external parties.
