NUCLEAR MED TECHNOLOGIST- days (4 10's)

Job Summary Employment Status: Full time; Shift: Day; Facility: 1906 Belleview Ave SE - Roanoke; Requisition Number: R157283; Title: NUCLEAR MED TECHNOLOGIST. Hours Approx 6:00 am start time with flex by a couple of hours with notice. Weekends off with one day during the week off. Weekday off may rotate with notice. Responsibilities Perform a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages. Operate highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain images and test results. Administer diagnostic and therapeutic doses to patients under the direction of an authorized user by IV, inhalation and ingestion. Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures, correlating patient history with test to be performed. Assist with scheduling, registration, image management and computer processing for patients. Evaluate, prepare and observe patients with professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety. Interact with other staff, patients, physicians, families, family members/visitors, management, ancillary departments and general public. Develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care with the healthcare team. Interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to age and/or specific needs and provide care per applicable policy and procedures. Participate in training of students and staff as assigned. Enhance personal and professional growth through educational opportunities. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent; Graduate of a CAHEA School of Radiologic Technology and/or CAHEA School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent. Experience: Preferred experience in Nuclear Medicine. Licensure/Certification: Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology by NMTCB or ARRT; AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served. Knowledge of radiopharmacy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
