Howard Law is seeking an experienced Georgia-licensed attorney to join our growing creditor-rights practice. This position offers an opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth of Howard Law’s Georgia practice.
The ideal candidate is a career-oriented attorney with at least three years of relevant experience, preferably representing mortgage lenders, servicers, financial institutions, and other creditors in Georgia foreclosure matters. Experience with non-judicial foreclosure, judicial foreclosure, creditor-side bankruptcy, evictions, title matters, and related litigation is highly valued.
The successful candidate will be comfortable managing a high-volume caseload, providing timely and accurate client reporting, and working both independently and collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and firm leadership. Strong leadership, organizational, and client-service skills are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Georgia foreclosure matters from referral through foreclosure sale and post-sale requirements.
- Review title examinations, title reports, loan documents, assignments, security deeds, and other collateral documents to identify and resolve issues affecting foreclosure.
- Review files for compliance with applicable Georgia foreclosure statutes, notice requirements, client guidelines, and investor requirements.
- Prepare, review, and oversee statutory notices and documentation required for Georgia non-judicial foreclosure sales.
- Handle or assist with judicial foreclosure proceedings when appropriate.
- Address title issues, contested foreclosure matters, temporary restraining orders, objections, and other litigation-related matters.
- Coordinate foreclosure matters affected by bankruptcy proceedings, including working with bankruptcy counsel when necessary.
- Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, borrowers' counsel, courts, trustees, vendors, and other parties.
- Attend hearings, conferences, mediations, and other court proceedings as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely client and case-management system updates.
- Ensure deadlines, client requirements, and internal quality-control standards are consistently met.
- Assist with the continued development and growth of Howard Law’s Georgia foreclosure practice.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
- Minimum of three years of relevant legal experience, with Georgia creditor-side foreclosure experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Georgia non-judicial foreclosure procedures and statutory requirements.
- Judicial foreclosure experience is a plus.
- Creditor-side bankruptcy, eviction, title, and/or real estate litigation experience is a plus.
- Admission to practice in Florida or another state is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage a high-volume caseload and multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Professional, positive, collaborative, and growth-oriented approach.
- Strong client-service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with institutional clients.
- Leadership or management experience is strongly preferred.
