Job Title: Warehouse Picker
Job Description
This role is based in a large distribution center in Anderson, IN and focuses on accurately picking, loading, and receiving products within a warehouse environment. You will start with dedicated picking responsibilities and, over time, receive training in loading and receiving to support operations across the entire distribution center. This is an open-ended contract position, with the possibility for standout performers to be considered for permanent opportunities as they become available.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick products from designated locations based on order specifications and pick lists.
- Operate an electric pallet jack safely to transport products throughout the warehouse and along the pick line.
- Use RF scanning equipment and scan guns to track inventory, confirm correct items, and update order status.
- Double-check picked items against order lists to ensure accuracy and minimize errors.
- Place picked items onto pallets in a secure, organized manner and wrap the tops of pallets before sending them to the wrapping machine.
- Stage orders for outbound shipments, ensuring pallets are properly labeled and positioned for loading.
- Pull pallets off the conveyor and scan them using the provided equipment to confirm order details.
- Use the SAP system to determine the appropriate dock door for each pallet and incoming shipment.
- Transport pallets to designated doors using a sit-down forklift while following all safety protocols.
- Unload shipments from trucks and other delivery vehicles in the receiving area.
- Stage the receiving area for the next order by organizing materials, tucking the tails, verifying tags and labels, and putting items away in the correct locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and receiving area by following housekeeping standards.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures during picking, loading, receiving, and material handling activities.
- Adapt to both morning and night shift schedules and maintain productivity throughout long shifts.
- Stay self-motivated, work independently, and remain on task to meet daily operational goals.
Essential Skills
- Willingness to operate an electric pallet jack in a busy warehouse environment.
- Willingness to learn and operate a sit-down forklift safely and effectively.
- Ability to work comfortably in cold temperatures within a 45-degree warehouse.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to stay on task with minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform physical warehouse work, including lifting, moving, and stacking products.
- Attention to detail when picking orders and verifying items against order lists.
- Basic familiarity with warehouse processes such as order picking, loading, unloading, and staging.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using RF scanners or scan guns to track inventory and manage pick lists.
- Previous picking experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Hands-on experience operating an electric pallet jack.
- in material handling, including pallet jack operation, forklift driving, and warehouse packing.
- Experience with loading, unloading, staging, and inventory-related tasks.
- Familiarity with sit-down forklifts and warehouse equipment.
- Exposure to inventory systems and basic understanding of SAP or similar warehouse management software.

Work Environment
The role is based in a 45-degree warehouse environment where cold-weather gear, including bibs and gloves, is provided to keep you comfortable during your shift. Morning shift openings start with Monday–Friday training from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for 1–2 weeks, then transition to a 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. schedule on a 2-2-3 rotation. Night shift openings begin with Sunday–Thursday training from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. for 1–2 weeks, then move to a 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. 2-2-3 schedule. Each shift includes two paid 20-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute break. The warehouse uses electric pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, RF scanners, scan guns, and SAP-based systems to manage inventory and order flow. The dress code requires jeans and steel-toe or composite-toe shoes, with cold-weather gear such as bibs and gloves provided for use in the facility.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
