Assessor's Assistant

TOWN OF STONINGTON POSITION VACANCY ASSESSOR'S ASSISTANT Full-time, Non-Exempt, Union Position, 35 Hrs/week W/benefits Current Hourly Rate: $30.80-$36.24 Under the general supervision of the Assessor, the Assessors Assistant performs responsible fiscal and related work of moderate complexity in assisting the Assessor in the preparation of the annual Grand List, related maps and records, and the general administration of the office. Work is performed and involves the exercise of independent judgment and initiative within the context of State law and prevailing policies and procedures. Work is reviewed through conferences for overall program effectiveness and efficiency. Graduation from high school or equivalent including or supplemented by courses in general office practices such as typing, accounting and data processing, and four years of progressively responsible clerical experience in real and personal property evaluation work; or an Associates degree in a business field, and two years related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the requirements of this position may be considered. Connecticut Municipal Assessor Certification, preferred.
