Logistics Technician

Georgia Pacific is actively seeking Logistics Technicians to work at our Dixie® site in Jackson, TN, focusing on shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material flow of the facility. Our role is part of a world‑class production environment where teamwork and safety are paramount. Work Hours The department operates around the clock. After 6–8 weeks of training on the day shift, employees could be placed on a permanent day shift (5:30 AM–6:00 PM) or night shift (5:30 PM–6:00 AM) following a rotating 3‑2‑2, 12‑hour schedule. What You Will Do Operate and maintain equipment to defined standards and product specification targets. Monitor and complete data entry into technology devices (computer, tablet, etc.). Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production. Perform basic asset care duties, including routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area. Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals. Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment. Flow to the highest value work, which may include working across Printing, Packaging, Logistics, and Plate Forming Press technology centers. Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Basic Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year experience operating equipment in a manufacturing, logistics, industrial, agricultural, or military environment, or completion of post‑high‑school education in a manufacturing/industrial program. Experience with safe operation of mobile equipment (forklift, box clamp, or roll grab). Experience using a warehouse software system, and/or computer and tablet. Experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material flow. What Will Put You Ahead Experience with SAP/EWM. Unloading rail cars with mobile equipment. Experience with Automated Guided Vehicle systems. Experience leading activities in a manufacturing environment. Three (3) or more years of experience using computerized machinery in a production environment. Mechanical aptitude. Experience with advanced asset care including troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Familiarity with enterprise communication tools, including Microsoft Outlook and Teams, to support effective internal collaboration.
